I’m proud to have been endorsed this month by Protect Minnesota, Conservation Minnesota, the Planned Parenthood Minnesota Action Fund, the Boundary Waters Action Fund, and West Metro Climate Action. We’re building an inspiring coalition in this race, and I’m grateful to have the support of these organizations as we work towards real change in Minnesota!
Protect Minnesota is an outstanding organization working to prevent gun violence in our state. We all have a right to live in safety, and there are many common-sense steps the legislature can take to protect every Minnesotan without infringing on anyone’s rights. I was first motivated to run for office by the lack of action in our State Senate over the last four years on gun violence prevention, so I’m especially proud to stand with Protect Minnesota.
Conservation Minnesota works to protect our state’s beautiful natural resources from pollution and exploitation so future generations can enjoy and appreciate them just as we do. Environmental conservation and the fight against climate change are among my top priorities, and I know Conservation Minnesota will be an important and experienced partner in this work.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund mobilizes supporters of all political parties to defend and increase access to family planning services, safe and legal abortion, and fact-based, medically-accurate sexuality education. I support Planned Parenthood’s mission and am firmly pro-choice – I believe that everyone should be in control of their own healthcare decisions, bodies, and family planning choices without government input or control. I’m proud to stand with Planned Parenthood in their work.
The Boundary Waters Action Fund is dedicated to protecting the Boundary Waters from the threat of proposed sulfide-ore copper mining in the area, which is a type of mining that has never been done before in Minnesota and has never been done safely anywhere. I’ve spent a lot of time in the BWCA since childhood and have wonderful memories there with my own children – there’s nowhere else like it in the world. It’s our responsibility to protect that piece of nature from all threats, and I’ll do so in the Senate.
West Metro Climate Action, based in the west metro of Minneapolis, is a climate change-focused organization working to educate voters and legislators about the existential, urgent threat of climate change and create real change in our state’s environmental policy. Fighting climate change may be the single most important job we have, and I’m committed to doing that job in the Senate.
