Minnesota’s school system has some of the worst racial and economic educational achievement gaps in the country. We need legislators like me who’ve been in the classroom and understand what kind of targeted investments our teachers, administrators, and experts recommend – including increased funding for early-childhood education and English-language learner programs statewide, recruiting more teachers of color, requiring implicit bias training for teachers and staff, and more.
