I publicly announced today that I am running for State Senate in District 44 (Minnetonka, Plymouth, and Woodland), and will be pursuing the DFL endorsement! I’m running to represent my neighbors and my community as we fight for better schools, better healthcare, and a safer transportation system that keeps people and businesses moving.

I’m a civil engineer, college teacher, and successful small-business owner. I’m a proud wife, mother, and grandma, and I care about this community and its future. I have never served in political office, but now is the time for me to change course in my life and run for State Senate. I’m a bridge builder, I know the value of teamwork, and I will bring my decades of experience to the Capitol in St. Paul.

District 44 is currently represented by Republican Senator Paul Anderson. This race is a top DFL target as the party looks to retake the two-seat Senate majority that is currently held by the Republicans.

The future of Minnesota is truly at stake next November. We have a real opportunity to enact more progressive policies that do a much better job of supporting working families, public schools, and local businesses, and I’m ready to get to work and bring the voices of District 44 residents to the Senate.
